FAU-G - All you need to know

Made by Indian game development studio nCore, FAU-G is a third-person shooter that will focus on real-world military operations and battles of the Indian army. Announced in the wake of PUBG Mobile's ban in India and Prime Minster Narendra Modi's desire for Indian studios to start making games in India, about India, FAU-G stands for Fearless and United: Guards. Leading up to its Republic Day release on January 26, 2021, here’s everything you need to know about FAU-G.

RELEASE DATE-
FAU-G is coming to iPhones, iPads and Android devices on January 26, 2021, celebrating India’s Republic Day. The Android version can be pre-registered for on Google Play. The iOS version hasn’t made its way to the App Store yet, but will be come available with the game’s release.

GAMEPLAY AND FEATURES-
FAU-G will be a third-person brawler and will not feature any guns at launch. Its first level will be Galwan Valley, where guns weren’t really used in combat. Instead, players will use their fists, as well as makeshift melee weapons to fight off enemies. Studio nCore cites games like the Batman: Arkham franchise, as well as The Last of Us for its visceral take on melee gameplay. The focus here is on realism.

However, one of the trailers released for FAU-G has shown characters using picking up, loading, and using guns to mow down their enemies. It’s likely that we’ll see guns make it into the game at some point, if not already at launch.

FAU-G vs PUBG-

The most important bit of information about FAU-G is essentially how it compared to PUBG Mobile. Where the banned-in-India PUBG Mobile was a battle royale game featuring extra deathmatch modes, FAU-G is actually a more linear, story-centric game.

Rather than competitive multiplayer modes, at launch, FAU-G will have a campaign that can be played solo, or with friends. It will feature levels that are based on real operations by the Indian military, and in terms of gameplay, it will not feature any guns at launch. Instead, it will be more focused on melee combat.
